Lavender plants in rows on the Riggi farm

Our story

From the classroom to the fields

A retiring teacher, ten acres, and almost seven thousand lavender plants.

Rick Riggi · Founder

"I wanted to do something that would keep me healthy—and add a little beauty to the area."

As a retiring teacher, I was looking for something that would help me stay healthy as well as provide beauty to the area. I started reading about what I could actually grow on my ten acres of land.

It turned out that lavender grows well here in upstate New York, and my land in particular was good for growing it. So I got to work.

Five years of planting—nearly 7,000 plants and counting.

Over the last five years I've planted almost 7,000 lavender plants, turning this property into what I consider one of the most beautiful in Livingston County.

The farm has a beautiful vista of the Genesee Valley. It's a great place to slow down—take in the wonderful scent of lavender and the gorgeous Genesee Valley panorama stretching out in front of you.

The view

A panorama worth slowing down for

Come walk the rows, breathe in the lavender, and look out over the whole Genesee Valley. It's the kind of quiet that's hard to find—and it's open to you all season long.

Come see it for yourself
